Biathlon: Tickets for the Grand-Bornand event open on September 17
On December 19th, at Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie), the world’s best biathletes will compete for four days in the traditional Biathlon World Cup stage held at the Sylvie Becaert stadium in the Haute-Savoie resort.
And while the ticket office will open on September 17 for enthusiasts seeking a ticket for the four days of competition [opening on September 24 for all tickets, Editor’s note], the organizers took advantage of their presence at the Martin Fourcade Nordic Festival in Annecy (Haute-Savoie) to unveil the event’s poster.
On this latest figure, there are three well-known biathletes to the general public such as Lou Jeanmonnot, second in the overall standings of the World Cup last year, Sophie Chauveau, fourth on her home ground in 2022 after only five races in the elite, and also Emilien Jacquelin, the last Frenchman to win in Haute-Savoie during the mass-start in December 2021.
“It is an honor to be on this poster. For me, it has always been a dream to participate in this World Cup,” confided Sophie Chauveau during the press conference organized at le Pâquier on Saturday, August 31. “The first time I participated, it was completely crazy! Today, to find myself on the poster is quite moving. It is a real pride and I am very happy to represent my station and my village.”
« I am very happy and proud to be able to represent French biathlon on this poster. I have many memories at Grand-Bornand such as my victory in the mass start but also one of my first podiums achieved there, » recalls Emilien Jacquelin. « It is a very beautiful event that showcases French expertise. »
