Biathlon: Skidskyttekampen continues on its way
Last winter, a new biathlon competition was launched: the Skidskyttekampen. Held at the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm (Sweden), this show pitted several mixed pairs, including Emilien Jacquelin and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet on the French side, against each other in a mixed single relay.
Last year, NorwegiansJuni Arnekleiv and Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen won brilliantly in front of a wild crowd, with the French finishing third. “It was a fantastic competition for those of us who took part, and I really hope that Skidskyttekampen comes back every year,” explained Savoyard Justine Braisaz-Bouchet after the first edition.
It was listened to, and in 2025 the urban event will be back on the programme. The second Skidskyttekampen will take place on Monday 3 March, just a few days before the World Cup resumes in Nove Mesto (Czech Republic) following the World Championships.
Contacted by Nordic Magazine, the organisation said that it was not yet in a position to give the names of the athletes taking part, but that it hoped to be able to field “at least one French team”.
