Biathlon: double objective for Emilien Jacquelin this week in Oslo-Holmenkollen
At the end of this week, Emilien Jacquelin from Dauphiné finishes his international season at the Biathlon World Cup in Oslo-Holmenkollen (Norway). The Villardien native is confident going into the finals following a stage in Pokljuka (Slovenia), in which he reassured himself after recovering from illness.
“What I’m most proud of this weekend is that, despite not feeling the best physically and the difficult snow conditions, I’m still able to focus on my shooting and put in full runs. That doesn’t win you any races, but it puts you in the top 10, he told Nordic Magazine in the Slovenian mixed zone on Sunday. It was one of my best weekends in these conditions, so I can be satisfied.”

For three days, Emilien Jacquelin will be competing for a place on the podium in the final overall standings. Currently fourth in the standings, 42 points behind team-mate Eric Perrot, he still believes in this objective. “I’m hanging in there and anything is possible,” he says.
In the Norwegian capital, however, the double Olympic medallist from Beijing 2022 has something else in his sights: “The small globe in the sprint is up for grabs in a format where I’ve been able to express myself well this season”, he says. Second, 17 lengths behind Johannes Thingnes Boe, Emilien Jacquelin – winner of two sprints this winter – could indeed lift the crystal this Friday afternoon under the sun of Oslo.
