Biathlon : Hanna Oeberg and Viktor Brandt absent
On Monday, the Swedish national team begins its first altitude camp in the small town of Lavazé (Italy), situated at an altitude of 1,800 metres. The aim is to prepare as well as possible for next season’s major objective, the Olympic Games in Milan/Cortina 2026 .

“Lavazé is a place we know well. We know that we have ideal conditions here both in terms of altitude and variety. It’s an important camp for building on the foundations we laid in the spring,” said the German coach of the Swedish team, Johannes Lukas, in a press release.
Hanna Oeberg and Viktor Brandt will not be taking part in the training camp in Italy. The 29-year-old biathlete was ill and missed many days of training during the spring, so has opted to stay at home. Viktor Brandt , meanwhile, has injured his foot and will stay in Sweden for his rehabilitation.

A total of twelve biathletes will be training and staying at the 1800 metre col de Lavazé, seven women and five men: Anna Magnusson, Anna-Karin Heijdenberg, Ella Halvarsson, Elvira Oeberg, Johanna Skottheim, Linn Gestblom (ex Persson), Sara Andersson, Anton Ivarsson, Jesper Nelin, Malte Stefansson, Martin Ponsiluoma and Sebastian Samuelsson.
