Biathlon: Eric Perrot, a top 10 finish at the World Championships in Lenzerheide
On Sunday afternoon, Peiserot biathlete Eric Perrot rounded off his 2025 World Championships in Lenzerheide (Switzerland) by finishing seventh in the mass-start. The best Frenchman in this last race of the fortnight, the Savoyard is satisfied with his result.
“I’m happy with what I’ve done because I was very tired on Saturday [for the relay], he told La Chaîne L’Equipe. I had a good rest and I was really on the attack. I’m very happy with my ability to bounce back after a race in the red.”
But with three errors on the shooting range, Eric Perrot missed too much behind the rifle to be in with a chance of a podium finish. “I think it was mental exhaustion that meant I didn’t manage to put as much intensity [as usual] into my shooting,” he says.
A great overall result
The Savoyard then looked back on his world championships, which ended with gold medals in the mixed relay and the individual event, silver in the relay and bronze in the pursuit.
“This individual victory is a huge achievement. I’m really proud to have won it. More generally, there are a lot of medals, it’s a bit crazy, he enthuses. They’re not huge, but they’re leading me towards what I want to do.”
In other words, to become the best biathlete in the world. In the meantime, Eric Perrot will be setting his sights in March on trying to finish the winter on the overall World Cup podium. “It’s a big goal,” he admits. I’m going to continue to fight for good races.”
