Biathlon: plenty of Italy for the Norwegians this summer
Since Thursday, the Norwegian biathletes in the national elite group – Sturla Holm Lægreid, Endre Stroemsheim, Martin Uldal, Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen, Vebjoern Soerum and Johannes Dale-Skjevdal on the men’s side; Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, Maren Kirkeeide, Ragnhild Femsteinevik, Ida Lien, Juni Arnekleiv and Marthe Kraakstad Johansen on the women’s side – have been taking part in their first training camp of the 2025/2026 preparation programme.
They will be in Oslo (Norway) until 15 May for this return gathering, marking the start of the post-Boe brothers era. Nordic Magazine spoke to theNorwegian Biathlon Association to find out more about the summer training programme for the Scandinavian kingdom’s athletes.

First, from 16 June to 2 July, they will be off to Livigno (Italy) and the Lavazè Pass (Italy) to spend three weeks at altitude. After that, they’ll be off to Sandnes (Norway) from 2 to 10 August for another course, culminating in their participation in the Blink Festival.
Three passes over the Lavazè pass for the men, two for the women… who will also be going to Antholz
Then, from 22 August to 11 September, the boys will be in Seiser Alm (Italy) and on the Lavazè pass for another three weeks of work, while the women will be training in Antholz (Italy), on the site of the next Olympic Games. They will then meet up again in Molde (Norway) from 18 to 21 September for the Norwegian Summer Championships.

Finally, their preparations will culminate in another training camp at the Col de Lavazè (6-23 October), followed by a return to the snow in Geilo (Norway) from 5-16 November. There, at the opening Norwegian races, they will be able to test themselves against the French.
