Biathlon: Sweden at Idre Fjäll
The snowfarming cross-country skiing track has been open for a few days now at Idre Fjäll (Sweden). It is here, in ideal conditions, that the Swedish national biathlon team is holding its fourth and final training camp in its preparations. The camp will conclude on 16 and 17 November with the traditional Swedish opening races.
“The site at Idre Fjäll offers us very good training conditions for this time of year, said Germany’s Johannes Lukas, fitness coach for Group A, in a federal statement. The snow is still of good quality and we can fine-tune the final details on the track and shooting range in complete peace of mind.”
After the high-altitude courses organised in Majorca (Spain), on the Col de Lavazè (Italy) and then in Font-Romeu (Pyrénées-Orientales) in the run-up to the Milan/Cortina 2026 Olympic Games, this is the first time the event has been held on the plains.
While all the big names in Swedish biathlon will be present at Idre Fjäll, Linn Gestblom will be absent to concentrate fully on his rehabilitation following shoulder surgery. Anton Ivarsson, who recently underwent appendicitis surgery, is also absent.
