Biathlon: gold in the individual short at the World University Games for Noémie Remonnay
A few hours after the men’s race, it was the women’s turn to take part in the individual short biathlon at the Turin 2025 World University Games, at the very start of the afternoon on Tuesday. In a 12.5km long race, Noémie Remonnay from Doubt proved to be the strongest, winning the gold medal.
Wearing number 31 (out of 50 entries), the Pontissalier by birth shot 18/20 and set the fastest time on the track to claim a fine victory at the Olympic facilities in Pragelato (Italy). “I’m very surprised because I came here to have fun and the result makes me really, really happy”, she said after her success.

Poland’s Amelia Liszka (20/20), only 18 years old, took silver at 37 sec 6, while Ukraine’s Daryna Chalyk (16/20) was bronzed at 1 min 27. Anna Nedza-Kubiniec (17/20), another Pole, was just off the podium ahead of France’s Amélie Broutier (16/20). In the lead after three shots, she finished fifth after letting the top 3 slip away on the last stand.
Germany’s Luise Mueller (15/20), Sweden’s Erika Oesterman (17/20), France’s Lisa Siberchicot (17/20), Poland’s Wiktoria Celczynska (16/20) and Ukraine’s Lilia Steblyna (14/20) rounded out the top 10.
