Biathlon : Anamarija Lampic close to flowers in Austria
Austria and Hochfilzen definitely suit Anamarija Lampic. Fifth in the sprint on 8 December 2022 on her first appearance on the Biathlon World Cup after a convincing debut in the IBU Cup, the former cross-country skier was in the top 10 again a year later at the same venue.

This Friday, in the same competition format, the Slovenian repeated her performance by finishing a fine eighth, her best performance since the start of the winter. And yet the 29-year-old biathlete wasn’t perfect in front of the targets.
Having missed three of her ten shots, it was on skis that the bronze medallist in the classic sprint at the 2021 World Cross-Country Ski Championships in Oberstdorf (Germany) made the difference to claim a place among the top ten athletes in the final rankings.

As has often been the case in recent seasons, Anamarija Lampic set the fastest ski time of the day ahead of Elvira Oeberg and France’s Justine Braisaz-Bouchet. It was a very satisfying result for Lampic, who had just missed out on the first stage in Kontiolahti (Finland).
” Despite my poor start to the season in Kontiolahti, I knew I was working well in training and shooting well too. So I knew that better results would come, she confided after her performance for Sloski on Friday. I’ve made progress today, but I know it can be even better. I’m satisfied with my race, especially because I didn’t have a very good feeling.”
