Biathlon : Les Bleus on the podium in the mixed relay at the European junior championships
On Friday morning, the programme for the European Junior Biathlon Championships in Altenberg (Germany) included a mixed relay. In this event, Grenoble’s Anaëlle Bondoux was to close the race, taking over from Camille Grataloup-Manissolle, Antonin Delsol and Lola Bugeaud.
However, the Isère native had to withdraw at the last minute, giving up her place to Louise Roguet from Montblanc. I found out I was running at 8am from Claire [Breton],” she told Nordic Magazine. I hadn’t prepared myself at all mentally for the race, but physically I was fine.

As soon as the announcement was made by her shooting coach, the Haut-Savoyard woman got down to business with a 15-minute run, a four-hour body-building session and a breakfast eaten 3 hours before the start. On the German stadium, Louise Roguet then did what she describes as her “usual warm-up”.
A crazy last lap to get the money
On the track, she was then launched by Lola Bugeaud in third place. ” I was under a bit of pressure and a little stressed not to let the team off the podium and disappoint them”, she admits. Although“a bit tired from the individual race”, Louise Roguet felt good on her cross-country skis.
Doing the work on the mats with just one quick pick, she came out of the last shot a few seconds behind Italy’s Sara Scattolo, who had two penalty rounds.

“I caught up with her fairly quickly and went up the climb, mainly because I knew I had to open up the gap before the final sprint, which I’m not very good at”, she said. And that’s how Louise Roguet won silver for the French team.
“I don’t know if it was a crazy day because we didn’t win the gold medal. Afterwards, when I got up, I didn’t think I’d be racing, so it’s nice to go home with a silver medal at the end of the day”, concluded the member of the Ski club nordique de Praz-de-Lys/Sommand.
