Biathlon: Montblanc’s Jeanne Richard, Adèle Ouvrier-Buffet and Louise Roguet become French relay champions
On Saturday afternoon, the Mont Blanc ski committee once again proved that it is the best in women’s biathlon. In the relay event at the French Championships in Les Saisies (Savoie), the Haut-Savoyard women dominated the front-runners, completing the double and placing five teams in the top 10.
At the front, it was the trio of Adèle Ouvrier-Buffet, Louise Roguet and Jeanne Richard who took the victory, synonymous with the gold medal awarded at the end of the day in the town centre of the Beaufort resort.

“It’s one of the best races of the season, and I’m really pleased to be able to experience all this with the committee and the team. These are wonderful moments and, what’s more, there’s a great atmosphere here in Les Saisies,” Jeanne Richard told Nordic Magazine after crossing the finish line.

U17 and relay thrower Adèle Ouvrier-Buffet was of the same opinion, adding that it was “strange, but above all a pleasure” to race in the company of Jeanne Richard, sixth overall in the World Cup this winter. “I wasn’t crazy on skis, but skiing saved me a bit,” she added.

Last but not least, Louise Roguet took her second title of the weekend , theday after winning the U19 mass-start: “It was so good! A relay victory is always nice and it’s a bit like the icing on the cake after the mass-start,” enthused the biathlete from Praz-de-Lys/Sommand.
