Cross-country skiing: the Swiss aim to shine at home
After the French in Les Rousses (Jura) last weekend, it’s now the turn of the Swiss to perform in front of their home crowd this Friday at the cross-country skiing World Cup in the Engadine (Switzerland). Nine women will be representing their country.

They include Fabien Alder, Nadine Faehndrich, Léa Fischer, Marina Kaelin, Nadja Kaelin, Alina Meier, Désirée Steiner, Anja Weber and Giuliana Werro. Fifteen athletes have been selected for the men’s events.

Roman Alder, Jonas Baumann, Cyril Faehndrich, Valerio Grond, Silvan Hauser, Beda Klee, Noé Naeff, Ilan Pittier, Candide Pralong, Janik Riebli, Jason Rueesch, Antonin Savary, Roman Schaad, Niclas Steiger and Nicola Wigger will be defending their chances in a mixed relay, a skate sprint and a mass start skating event.

- 10.45am: FT men’s and women’s sprint qualifiers
- 1.15pm: FT men’s and women’s sprint finals
Sunday 26 January
- 12.30pm: men’s 20km FT mass-start
- 2.30pm: women’s 20km FT mass-start
