Every two years, theSwedish Ski Association awards grants of 15,000 kronor (€1,313.90 at the current exchange rate) to promising sportsmen and women. This year, among the eight winners born in 2006 and 2007 is 18-year-old cross-country skier Alvar Myhlback.
Considered a prodigy in his sport for several months now, Nystroem has already taken part in six World Cup races, is the reigning double junior world champion and came third in the legendary Vasaloppet last winter. Rickard Nystroem also won an award for ski jumping.
