Cross-country skiing: Jessie Diggins retains her title
Jessie Diggins failed to make the podium at the Oslo-Holmenkollen (Norway) cross-country skiing world cup last weekend. Although she has been losing momentum in recent weeks, the American did well in the individual classic, where she finished tenth, and the individual skate, where she finished a solid sixth.
These performances have also enabled her to secure the Crystal Globe for the 2024/2025 season. In fact, the current leader of the overall ranking with a total of 2,071 points, the American now has too big a lead for Victoria Carl, her closest pursuer, to catch up.

Having won six times this season, the 33-year-old cross-country skier has now doubled her record , having already added her name to the list of winners last winter. The American also took the opportunity to win her third career globe. A performance that enables her to join Marjo Matikainen and Therese Johaug in the ranking of athletes with three overall titles.
On the eve of an Olympic winter, Jessie Diggins is just one point behind her counterparts Justyna Kowalczyk, Bente Skari Martinsen and Marit Bjoergen.
