Although he was due to take part in the Tour de Ski from Saturday, Swedish cross-country skier Calle Halfvarsson has finally had to withdraw. The Scandinavian has been suffering from back problems since the start of the season.
“He has reacted well to the rehabilitation, but doing a full Tour de Ski at this stage is a big constraint, especially with the World Championships coming up in February, which we have to keep in mind. That’s why we’re pulling the handbrake and hoping that Calle [Halfvarsson] will be back and taking part in the World Cup in Les Rousses,” explains Rickard Noberius, the national team doctor.
In his place, Eric Rosjoe will start the 2024/2025 Tour de Ski.
