The Swedish women’s cross-country skiing team has had a great season. At the World Championships in Trondheim (Norway), the Scandinavian cross-country skiers achieved a historic grand slam. At the end of the season, however, the national team management decided to terminate the contract ofAndreas Domeij‘s coach.
“We have not succeeded in creating an environment in which he [Andreas Domeij ] can bring out his strengths. We have therefore concluded that a change is necessary for the future,” said Swedish team manager Anders Byström in a press release.

He added: “The aim is to have a world-class national team. It’s then important that we constantly look at how we can develop both those of us who work around the athletes and the organisation as a whole. We have an Olympic season ahead of us and we will do everything we can to create the right conditions to perform there.”
