This Friday, the eagerly-awaited cross-country skiing world cup in Les Rousses (Jura) kicks off with an individual skate. While the world’s big caravan is resting after the demanding Tour de Ski, which ended on 5 January, the organisers are busy preparing the competition site.

The course will undergo a major change just a few days before the event. While the original plan was for the world’s best cross-country skiers to compete over a 5-kilometre loop, the lack of natural snow has prompted the organisers to opt for a shorter route.
In the end, the athletes will compete on a 3.3-kilometre loop to complete the 10-kilometre course, as confirmed by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS ) late on Monday afternoon.
