Cross-country skiing: individual events at the Cogne World Cup
In the wake of the superb podium finish by Jules Chappaz and Richard Jouve in the classic sprint team, the cross-country skiing world cup athletes will now be competing in a classic sprint for the second time on the eighth stage of the circuit based in Cogne (Italy).

In this event, it’s the ladies who will get the ball rolling at 10.30 am in the Valle d’Aosta. While Germany’s Lisa Lohmann will be the first to set off, the first Frenchwoman to appear in the starting gate will be Mélissa Gal with number 12, followed by Léna Quintin and Léonie Besson with numbers 30 and 45.

In the men’s race, locals Elia Barp and Federico Pellegrino will kick off the hostilities in front of their home crowd in first and second place from 11.04am. Jules Chappaz will be the first Frenchman in the running with the number 17. The Haut-Savoyard will be followed by Renaud Jay on 19, Lucas Chanavat on 20 and Richard Jouve on 28. Rémi Bourdin and Ivan Essonnier will wear numbers 40 and 65.
