An outpouring of joy. The German camp celebrated Coletta Rydzek ‘s first World Cup victory. Even Jan Stoelben, who had just put his foot down in the semi-final of the Lahti sprint, came to congratulate his team-mate.
“I didn’t think I’d be able to do that,” commented the winner to the FIS radio. She promised to celebrate on Saturday evening, after the team sprint.
The younger sister of renowned Nordic combined specialist Johannes Rydzek made her World Cup debut in 2019 and has more than fifty individual starts to her name. On 3 March 2024, it was already on this Finnish track that she claimed her first individual podium, finishing second in the sprint skate.
