Cross-country skiing: Harald Oestberg Amundsen retires
The 2024/2025 Tour de Ski is losing one of its great men. Winner in recent days of the individual skate race and then the classic pursuit in Toblach (Italy), Norway’s Harald Oestberg Amundsen is retiring from the competition.
TheNorwegian Ski Association made the announcement in a press release on Thursday morning. “Unfortunately, he woke up this [Thursday] morning with a sore throat and is on his way back,” explained national team doctor Ove Feragen.

Currently in third place overall, 57 seconds behind Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo, Harald Oestberg Amundsen is therefore writing off the three stages in Val di Fiemme (Italy) scheduled from Friday to Sunday.
As a result, Hugo Lapalus climbed to fourth place overall, 1 second off the podium… and back in the race for the purple bib of best climber.
