Cross-country skiing : Jonna Sundling impressive
On Saturday, the world’s fastest cross-country skiers met in Davos (Switzerland) for the sprint skate of the third stage of the 2025/2026 Cross-Country Skiing World Cup.

On a very fast track in the Graubünden night, Sweden’s Jonna Sundling laid down the law. Winner of the qualifying round, she then managed her quarter-final and semi-final perfectly before reaching the final.
In the final race, the world champion in the speciality took the lead right from the start. On the final climb, she widened the gap on her rivals, but saw Norway’s Mathilde Myhrvold come back in the final straight.

At the end of the effort, the Swede held on to a few centimetres in front of the Norwegian. This wasJonna Sundling ‘s second success in two days on the Davos track, following on from the Team sprint on Friday.
Norway’s Mathilde Myhrvold took second place and her fourth individual World Cup podium. After passing the time for the final, it was local Nadine Faehndrich who completed the podium.

Sweden’s Maja Dahlqvist finished just off the podium, ahead of her compatriot Linn Svahn and Germany’s Laura Gimmler. Norwegian Kristine Stavaas Skistad was disqualified in the semi-final for pushing Swiss Nadine Faehndrich in the last bend.
France reach the quarter-finals
In the French camp, Léna Quintin and Mélissa Gal from Haut-Savoy secured their first World Cup qualification of the winter. But the step was too high for them in the quarter-finals.

Bornandine Léna Quintin, who was lining up in the same race as Jonna Sundling, Kristine Stavaas Skistad and Jessie Diggins, finished fifth in her heat and ended up 24th.

For her part, Mélissa Gal, making her return to the World Cup, took sixth place in her quarter-final, which was dominated by Norway’s Mathilde Myhrvold and Sweden’s Emma Ribom. She finished in 29th place.
