Cross-country skiing: Sweden sets the tone two months ahead of the Olympic Games
Of course, the track in Davos (Switzerland) is not the same as the one in Tesero (Italy), so the compositions will certainly change and the stakes will not be the same. Despite all these precautions, Sweden’s Maja Dahlqvist and Jonna Sundling made their mark in the team free sprint of the Swiss World Cup on Friday 12 December. The same format will be contested at the Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina (Italy) on 18 February.

They won by a large margin (more than 3 seconds) over their pursuers, after completing thelast third of the race solo. Behind them, Norway completed the podium with its two pairs(Astrid Oeyre Slind-MathildeMyhrvold ahead of Kristin Austgulen Fosnaes-KristineStavaas Skistad), although each selection will only have one duo at the Olympics.

Dropped at the end of the first relay, the French didn’t really get going. Julie Pierrel and Léonie Perry finished 12th at 32 seconds, Mélissa Gal and Justine Gaillard 15th and last at 1 min 12.
