Cross-country skiing : Lucas Chanavat makes a comeback
A few minutes after the cross-country skiers, it was the turn of the cross-country skiers to compete in the qualifying round of the cross-country skiing world cup in Davos (Switzerland). In perfect conditions, it was Bornandin’s Lucas Chanavat who was the fastest.
Back from injury after a stress fracture in his tibia, he didn’t make it through qualifying last weekend in Trondheim (Norway). This time, he made full use of his power to set the fastest time.

The Frenchman beat American Ben Ogden and Norwegian Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo. Local rider Janik Riebli was fourth, just ahead of Italy’s Federico Pellegrino.

For the Blues, Jules Chappaz from Cluse was 14th and Rémi Bourdin from the Jura was 17th. On the other hand, Ivan Essonnier (63rd) and Victor Cullet Claderini (69th) didn’t make the cut. Richard Jouve was unable to start due to back pain.

Haitian Stevenson Savart, profiled in Nordic Magazine no. 44, came 82nd.
