This Friday, the Swedish daily Expressen organised its traditional Skisnack gala to reward the Scandinavian country’s best cross-country skiing World Cup athletes.

In the women’s event, it was Ebba Andersson who was crowned the best female cross-country skier of the winter. The queen of the Trondheim (Norway) World Championships with three titles to her name, the 27-year-old skier beat her compatriots Frida Karlsson and Jonna Sundling. However, Jonna Sundling still took the prize for the best performance of the winter after her incredible comeback in the World Championship relay.

On the men’s side, it was William Poromaa who came out on top. It was a logical reward for the Swede, who claimed his first success on the international circuit last January in the mass-start classic at Les Rousses (Jura). The 24-year-old cross-country skier also took silver in the legendary 50km event at the World Championships. His team-mate Truls Gisselman was named revelation of the year.
