Cross-country skiing: a FESA Cup final for Gaspard Rousset
Late on Friday morning, the final stages of the men’s classic sprints at the FESA Cup cross-country skiing competition in Falcade (Italy) took place. In the Veneto region, one Frenchman in particular stood out: Gaspard Rousset from La Féclaz.

Eighth in the qualifying heat, he then made it through to the day’s grand final. Fifth in this final battle, the Savoyard was unable to fight for the podium, dominated by Germany’s Elias Keck ahead of Italy’s Giacomo Gabrielli and Alessandro Chiocchetti. Earlier in the tournament, Luc Primet and Milhan Laissus were eliminated in the quarter-finals .

The French U20s did not shine , with Gaspard Cottaz, Simon Clavel and Romain Vaxelaire eliminated in the quarter-finals and Quentin Viguier in the semi-finals. Final victory went to Germany’s Janik Weidlich ahead of Italy’s Federico Pozzi and his compatriot Felix Bollwein.
