Cross-country skiing: Gaspard Rousset’s fine victory in the FESA Cup
This Sunday morning, the third and final day of the FESA Cup cross-country ski race in Falcade (Italy) got underway with the men’s 20km classic pursuit. Eleventh at the start, 46 seconds behind the leader, Féclazien Gaspard Rousset managed to catch up at the halfway stage.

From then on, it was a large group that led the way and, in the final, around fifteen of them were vying for victory. Among them were ten Italians who had died of hunger at home and two Frenchmen, Gaspard Rousset and Luc Primet, who also made a fine comeback.

In the final hectometres, it was the Savoyard who proved to be the strongest, winning brilliantly ahead of the experienced Dietmar Noeckler and the Franc-Comtois Luc Primet, who scored his first FESA Cup podium finish. For Gaspard Rousset, it was also a first, ashe won the FESA Cup for seniors for the first time.
Milhan Laissus was twenty-third and Mathieu Blanc, third at the start, thirty-first.
