This Saturday morning saw the women’s classic sprints at the FESA Cup cross-country skiing event in Oberwiesenthal (Germany). In the U20s, who opened the ball, the qualifying victory went to Switzerland’s Ilaria Gruber, who was faster than Italy’s Beatrice Laurent and the Czech Republic’s Anna Maria Jaklova.
At the foot of the podium were France’s Margot Tirloy and Daphné Patois , while Anouchka Neuville, eighth, Annette Coupat, tenth, and Ariane Pignot, fourteenth, also progressed to the finals. Only Agathe Margreither, thirty-first, failed to qualify… by 17 hundredths of a second.
