Cross-country skiing: a collective triumph for Les Bleues in Planica
The French women’s cross-country skiing team shone this Friday morning in the free sprint at the FESA Cup in Planica (Slovenia). After a successful qualifying round, they showed their true colours in the final stages, even qualifying four of them for the grand final.
In the final heat, Bornand’s Julie Pierrel was the fastest to take victory ahead of Germany’s Lena Keck. Forézienne Liv Coupat took third place, while Clémence Didierlaurent was fourth and Mélissa Gal fifth.

Earlier in the tournament, Cloé Pagnier, Margot Tirloy, Juliette Ducordeau and Heidi Convard were eliminated in the quarter-finals. Justine Gaillard crashed out in the semi-finals on the course’s technical descent.
