Cross-country skiing: two Frenchmen on the podium in Planica
On Friday afternoon, the men’s sprint skate final at the FESA Cup in Planica (Slovenia) was a Franco-Swiss affair. Victory went to Switzerland’s Noe Naeff, who was on top all day, while Théo Schely and Victor Culler Calderini also finished on the podium.
Sabin Coupat was fourth after suffering a crash 100 metres from the finish line, while Silvan Hauser and Isai Naeff completed the standings in this final battle.
Earlier in the tournament, Gaspard Rousset and Ivan Essonnier were knocked out in the semi-finals , while Mattéo Correia and Julien Arnaud failed to progress beyond the first round.
A final for Mario Perrillat-Collomb at U20 level
In the U20s, it was Italy’s Federico Pozzi who came out on top, beating Germany’s Jakob Elias Moch and his compatriot Marco Pinzani in the final.
For France, the Haut-Savoyard Mario Perrillat-Collomb took fifth place , while Valentin Berna was knocked out at the final hurdle. Luigi Biancolli, Gaspard Cottaz, Lorin Vergnolle and Zacharie Bourdin were left stranded in the quarters.
