Cross-country skiing: French double at Prémanon
This Friday afternoon, two French cross-country skiers shone in the final stages of the senior cross-country sprint at the FESA Cup finals in Prémanon (Jura). On the slopes of the Tuffes stadium, Victor Cullet Calderini and Gaspard Rousset sailed through the laps perfectly.
Dominant in each of the heats, they found themselves in the final where they got the better of their four rivals before battling it out for victory. In the end, it was the former biathlete and member of the i3 Ski Team who came out on top, beating his team-mate from Feyzac by 1 sec 08. Germany’s Elias Keck, leader of the FESA Cup, was third ahead of Switzerland’s Noe Naeff, Austria’s Tobias Ganner and Italy’s Lorenzo Romano.
At the start of the finals, Anaël Lecerf, Luc Primet, Charly Rousset, Ivan Essonnier and Arnaud Chautemps failed to make the quarter-final cut.
