It was the young women in the U16 category who rounded off the first day of competitions at the FESA Games cross-country skiing event in Planica ( Slovenia). At the start of the afternoon, the cross-country skiers battled it out on an individual 5-kilometre skate.
Switzerland’s Danja Reichenbach was in control at the front of the race, giving her rivals no chance. The Swiss cross-country skier won ahead of her compatriot Carina Haas by a margin of almost 10 seconds. Behind this duo, Italy’s Viola Camperi took third place.

In the French clan, two riders made it into the day’s top 10. The first was Lison Brouart from Haut-Savoie, who finished eighth. Behind her, her Montblanc team-mate Louna Remillon was tenth, just ahead of Dauphinoise Anja Vittoz, eleventh on the line. The fourth French rider in the race, Lou Rives from Doubt, finished seventeenth.
