Eleventh in the qualifiers, second in her quarter and second in her half, Katri Lylynperä was able to manage the repetition of her efforts to become Finnish classic sprint champion at the Finnish Cup in Kuopio on Sunday 11 January. She finished ahead of Ella Noora Haapalehto and Nora Kytäjä. Amanda Saari dominated the qualifiers, her quarter and her half, but finally broke down in the final and finished just off the podium.

The men’s final was dominated by Ike Melnits. In a three-way battle, he got the better of Markus Vuorela and Ville Ahonen. China’s Wang Qiang took fifth place, while three of his compatriots had qualified for the finals.
