On Saturday morning, during the skate sprint of the cross-country skiing world cup in Toblach (Italy), the first stage of the nineteenth edition of the Tour de Ski, the French team included a total of thirteen male and female athletes.

However, this Sunday, there will only be twelve French riders taking part in the classic 15-kilometre mass-start. When the start lists came down, Flora Dolci was one of the names missing from the women’s contingent. After a good start to the season in which she was often placed, the 25-year-old from the Haut-Alpes was expected to take on the role of leader on this tour in the absence of Delphine Claudel, who suffered a stress fracture in her right foot.
