Cross-country skiing: “I’m really focusing on the World Championships and I’ll make a plan based on that,” says Frida Karlsson
Frida Karlsson made a remarkable return to the cross-country skiing world cup last weekend in Les Rousses (Jura). The Swede won the mass-start classic brilliantly. Until now, her winter had been complicated by a foot injury that forced her to miss several World Cup stages.
“I’m in great shape now. I’m going to go back to my own little world and get ready for the world championships. This year, I wasn’t able to compete in the World Cup, so I’m really concentrating on the World Championships and I’ll make a plan based on that,” she reveals in the columns of Expressen.

Frida Karlsson’s preparation for the Worlds in Trondheim (Norway) will be largely on a treadmill, as she did during her convalescence. For this, she has contacted biathlete Jesper Nelin, who has his own home-made treadmill.
“It’s safe for me. Skis are even harder on my injuries than roller skis. So I did almost all my intensities on mats”, explains the Swede.
Frida Karlsson will be one of the headliners at the World Championships in Trondheim (Norway) from 26 February to 9 March. In the meantime, she is unlikely to be seen again with a bib on her back.
