Cross-country skiing: after Turkey, it’s off to Austria for the Deaflympics
It has been known since October 2024 that the 21st Winter Deaflympics would be held in Innsbruck and Seefeld, Austria, in 2027. Earlier this week, the organising committee of this quadrennial event reserved for the deaf held a press conference at which the dates were made official: it will take place from 15 to 24 January.
In all, around 1,400 athletes and support staff from seven sports, including cross-country skiing, are expected in the Austrian Tyrol for what will be a return to the roots of the winter Deaflympics… which were first held at the same venue in 1949.

The logo for the event was also unveiled: it depicts an eagle, the symbol of Austria, formed by two hands. The colours of the international Deaflympics movement are also present.
