The day after the individual skate races won by Helene Marie Fossesholm and biathlete Einar Hedegart, the Norwegians faced off again this Saturday at the Norwegian Cross-Country Skiing Cup in Gålå (Norway). This time it was a sprint skate race.
An event that smiled on Elena Rise Johnsen. Impressive throughout the competition, the Scandinavian rounded off her day perfectly by winning the final in style. In fact, she relegated her compatriot Mathilde Myhrvold by more than a second. Hanne Wilberg Rofstad rounded off the top 3 by just two hundredths.
In the men’s race, U23 world champion Aleksander Elde Holmboe got the better of Matz William Jenssen in the very last metres of the race. The young man won by a margin of just eight hundredths. Behind the leading duo, Magnus Øyaas Håbrekke took third place.
