11:59. After the classic sprint won by Gina Del Rio and Roman Alder on Saturday afternoon, the first stage of the Swiss cross-country skiing cup season ended with an individual skate race. And the Andorran won the day’s race in Goms (Switzerland) in style.
Crossing the line with a margin of almost 50 seconds over Marina Kaelin, who was already on the box the day before, the 20-year-old cross-country skier continues to impress ahead of her return to the FESA Cup next weekend on the slopes of Schlinig (Italy). On the third step of the podium was Giuliana Werro.
In the men’s race, Jonas Baumann was the strongest. Solid throughout, the Swiss rider smoothed his way to victory ahead of his compatriot Jason Rueesch and young Antonin Savary, who had the luxury of edging out the experienced Candide Pralong.
