Cross-country skiing : Harald Oestberg Amundsen and Einar Hedegart in the lead
A few minutes after the women cross-country skaters, it was the men’s turn to compete on the sprint skate team this Friday, during the World Cup stage in Goms (Switzerland). Norwegians Harald Oestberg Amundsen and Einar Hedegart put in a great performance on the very difficult Swiss track.

In the absence of Johannes Hoesflot Klæbo, the Norwegian distance duo delivered a resolutely offensive race. In the lead from start to finish, the two Scandinavians set a hellish pace, with some very fast passages over the bumps and some super-powerful restarts.

After a decisive acceleration at the end ofEinar Hedegart‘s second stint, the Norwegians increased their lead. Harald Oestberg Amundsen held on to first place and launched his compatriot alone into the lead. The former biathlete then managed his effort perfectly and took advantage of the final straight to savour a victory that was controlled from start to finish.

The Norwegians finished ahead of Italy’s Elia Barp and Federico Pellegrino, who sprinted past the American team of Ben Ogden and Gus Schumacher. A historic third place, as it gave the United States their first World Cup podium in this team sprint format.
Richard Jouve and Jules Chappaz in the last 16
After trying to hold on to the leading group, the pace set by the top teams proved too much for the Tricolores. The duo of Richard Jouve and Jules Chappaz finished in eighth place, just over 25 seconds behind the winners.

For their part, Théo Schely and Lucas Chanavat were unable to join the battle for the top positions. The French duo finished twelfth, conceding more than 55 seconds to the winners.
