On Wednesday, the cross-country skiing events at the Asian Games in Harbin (China) came to a close at the Yabuli stadium with the relays. In the opening women’s race of the day, China’s Lei Li, Chunxue Chi, Lingshuang Chen and Dinigeer Yilamujiang dominated the proceedings.
Leading from start to finish, they were well ahead of Kazakhstan (Xeniya Shalygina, Kamila Yelgazinova, Angelina Shuryga, Nadezhda Stepashkina) and Japan (Mayu Yamamoto, Chika Kobayashi, Yuka Yamazaki, Karen Hatakeyama).

Then, in the men’s competition, it was all to play for in the final. Challenged right to the end by Japan (Shoa Moriguchi, Takatsugu Uda, Yuito Habuki, Haruki Yamashita), China (Minglin Li, Cirenzhandui, Lin Boa, Qiang Wang) relied on its leader Qiang Wang to make the difference in the final hectometres and claim the title.
Kazakhstan (Konstantin Bortsov, Nail Bashmakov, Olzhas Klimin, Vladislav Kovalyov) took bronze.
