Last night, the cross-country skiing events at the Asian Winter Games in Harbin (China) continued with the women’s 5km individual skate. In this very short competition, China dominated the proceedings, winning four times.
It was Bayani Jialin, 25 years old and with 19 World Cup starts in her career, who took the gold after 12 min 7 sec 5 of effort. She won by a margin of 3.6 seconds over Dinigeer Yilamujiang and 10.0 seconds over Chunxue Chi, who was in the lead at km 1.6 before breaking away. Lingshuang Chen rounded off the leading Chinese quartet at 17 sec 1.
