Cross-country skiing : Flora Dolci breaks into the top 20 again in Les Rousses
Eleventh in the opening individual skate of the cross-country skiing world cup in Les Rousses (Jura) two days earlier, Flora Dolci was looking forward to the closing mass-start classic scheduled for late morning on Sunday. Nineteenth after more than an hour’s effort in the sunshine, the Frenchwoman was satisfied with her second race of the weekend.
For Nordic Magazine, the Haut-Alpine took the time to look back at the lessons learned from these Jura competitions and to talk about the rest of the season.
- What are your first impressions of the race?
I’m quite happy because I’m making progress in the classics. To be honest, I really enjoyed myself today and it was a good day. The sun was out, so were the crowds and the course was demanding.

- You said a few days ago that you were “only at 70%”. Are you reassured?
I really enjoyed myself and it’s great not to be coughing up my lungs [Laughs]! It’s great to feel that the illness is gradually going away. After that, I have to keep working on classical music. I love it, but it still doesn’t fit like it does on a skateboard.
“It’s been a pretty special journeyFlora Dolci at Nordic Magazine
- Are you satisfied with your nineteenth place finish?
I’m very cautious about the results in terms of rankings this weekend. There were a few absentees, although absentees are always wrong, but I’m looking more at my skiing, where I’ve made progress and where I still need to work. But I’m so happy. The organisation was top notch and it’s great to see everyone. I’m really happy.
- How did you manage your effort on this difficult route?
It’s very bumpy and very broken. As a result, you have to change pace all the time and that’s cool. It’s quite a special course. I don’t know what the foreigners will say, but I loved it and it was cool! I really want to eat classic races.

- The communion with the audience must also have carried you…
It’s still great and it’s a beautiful communion. It was too good. It’s so rare that we all get to see each other like that. You have to make the most of days like this!
