Cross-country skiing : Jessie Diggins impresses in Les Rousses
A few minutes after Ben Ogden finished third in the men’s individual skate race at the Les Rousses (Jura) cross-country skiing world cup, Jessie Diggins rushed into the mixed zone to congratulate her young compatriot on his first podium finish in a distance race.

Very happy for her team-mate, the American also took the opportunity to ask his advice. And it seems that the 24-year-old was able to guide her leader. Victorious a few minutes later by a margin of almost 20 seconds over Victoria Carl, the world number one dominated the race.
Third in 2023 behind Delphine Claudel, who was absent this year because of a stress fracture in her foot, this time the American perfectly controlled her effort to come out on top on the demanding French track. She explained her victory in part by the good vibes she felt after Ben Ogden’s top 3 finish.
“It’s so cool that Ben is taking his first podium in a distance race”.Jessie Diggins to Nordic Magazine
“I was really inspired by the boys. They had an incredible day. It’s so cool that Ben got his first podium in the distance,” she told Nordic Magazine after the finish. He’s worked so hard to get here. He’s also my club colleague, so I know exactly how hard he’s worked.

Determined to extend her lead in the overall circuit standings, Jessie Diggins has no intention of stopping there, as she will also be at the start of the classic sprint scheduled for Saturday and the classic mass-start on Sunday. I just wanted to get in the starting gate and fight for a good race,” she says. It was really cool and I’m proud of today.
