Last year, Ida Dahl, winner of the Ski Classics 2022/2023, had a difficult end to her winter. Affected by a long-standing illness, the Swede had to give up on her general classification objectives. Seventh in the final ranking, the Scandinavian continued to be affected by the virus.
The 28-year-old cross-country skier was unable to prepare as she would have liked over the summer. “I wasn’t able to train very much. I was very ill. There were a lot of obstacles and I had a lot of problems, she tells SVT Sport. So I’m not quite ready to compete at the start of the season.”
Without really revealing a return date, Ida Dahl nevertheless hopes to put a bib back on her back at the end of December: “I don’t want to set a date so as not to rush anything, she admits. It’s about being intelligent and making the right decisions for the future. It becomes difficult to set goals when you don’t know how your body is going to work. In the first instance, it’s simply a question of coming back and competing.”
