Cross-country skiing : Rémi Bourdin at home
This weekend, Rémi Bourdin will be racing on home soil at the Cross-Country World Cup in Les Rousses (Jura). The cross-country skier from the Frasne-Drugeon ski club says he’s delighted to be racing on home soil in the Jura.
“All the family and friends are really coming. They’re all going to make the trip. It really makes you want to run. It’s going to be cool. It’s not race day yet, but I’m already looking forward to it,” he explained to Nordic Magazine early on Thursday evening, two days before the classic sprint scheduled for Saturday.
Crazy organisation and sprints
“The work on the track was really good compared to what we’re used to. It feels like it’s been worked on more, and the organisation is top notch. The track is really nice. I’m concentrating on the sprint, especially qualifying, which is going to be very important in order to prepare for the finals in the best possible way. It’s going to be a great spectacle.

The public as an extra soul
“I really think that in the sprint, it’s all positive. Over the top, when we get going again over the climb, the crowd will support us and give us the little bit of energy we’re lacking. I’m expecting a really great atmosphere, it’s going to be incredible. On the other hand, on an individual or a mass-start, sometimes you can get carried away.
Trondheim in the sights
“If everything goes well this weekend, the next step is to continue with the World Cups. And then, if things continue as they are, there’s the world championships [in Trondheim] coming up, I hope. We’ll see, but that’s still a month away. We’ll wait for the selections, but for the time being, we’d say we’re off to a good start!
