Jessie Diggins finished the Tour de Ski at the summit ofAlpe Cermis (Italy) on 5 January at the end of her tether. Exhausted by seven competitions in nine days, the American even admitted to suffering from a foot injury a few hours after the end of the event.
A slight injury, however, raised doubts about her presence at the cross-country skiing World Cup in Les Rousses (Jura) scheduled for 17-19 January. Finally, with 24 hours to go before the start of hostilities, the outgoing winner of the crystal globe confirmed that she would indeed be taking part in the Tuffes stadium.
On the podium in the individual skate behind France’s Delphine Claudel in 2023, the 33-year-old cross-country skier will this time be in the starting gate with the yellow bib of overall leader.
