Cross-country skiing : Emma Ribom could count on JC Schoonmaker
Emma Ribom had a complicated season last winter.Despite winning the world relay title in the company of Ebba Andersson, Frida Karlsson and Jonna Sundling, the Swede had a difficult time at the World Championships in Trondheim (Norway) when she suffered heart problems during the sprint skate.

A few months later, the 27-year-old cross-country skier, who was preparing for the Olympic season, spoke to SVT about that moment.
“It was a bit unpleasant. I’d never felt like that before. So I asked myself: ‘Oh my God, what’s going on? It felt like something was wrong. It was a very unpleasant feeling. And there was also a certain fear: “Is this going to happen again?”, she recalls.
Emma Ribom is now optimistic and says she has been able to overcome the difficulties thanks to the support of her family and her partner, American James Clinton Schoonmaker. Her morale is now high, and the Swede is looking ahead to the season with her sights firmly set on Milan/Cortina 2026.
“I’ve really tried to turn the page and look to the future. I’ve never been so inspired and motivated to tackle a new period of preparation. And then there’s the Olympics coming up. So I’m really looking forward to getting started.
