Cross-country skiing: bronze in Georgia for Victor Lafrasse
On Tuesday, Bornandin Victor Lafrasse won the bronze medal in the individual 7.5km cross-country ski classic at the Bakuriani 2025 European Youth Olympic Festival. For the 16-year-old from Haut-Savoie, this race was the main objective of his week in Georgia.

“I’m very happy to have achieved it,” he told Nordic Magazine. In this opening event of the EYOF 2025, Victor Lafrasse finished third, taking a place on the podium by a whisker ahead of Finnish competitor Kalle Tossavainen, who started much later than him.
Great race management
“We knew that we were going to start at the front, so we talked about it with the coaches, who told us that we had to do our race and our skiing without thinking about the others,” he explains. The Montblanc native did just that, adopting an intelligent race strategy.

“We’re a bit high up here, so I didn’t want to start out too hard so as not to fart (sic). So I set off at a steady pace and then had to hold on the whole way. I’m happy with the result, it’s something to be proud of,” he concludes.
