Cross-country skiing : nine months after her concussion, Linn Svahn is back on the podium
Almost nine months after suffering concussion, Linn Svahn was back competing in the classic sprint of the cross-country skiing world cup in Trondheim (Norway). On the Granåsen track, the site of her accident, the 25-year-old cross-country skier made her comeback by finishing third in a Swedish quadruple.
“It’s great to be back. It was a strange race. It was a bit comical, but it’s a great conclusion with this triple,” she confided at the finish to Viaplay.

Linn Svahn won her quarter-final and then her semi-final to book her ticket for the final. In a completely crazy race, with numerous crashes, the Swede made her way to the podium despite a scare before the first run: “At the start, it was a bit like a domino effect. Laura [Gimmler] fell in front of me and I spun around.

This third place in Trondheim (Norway) also marks Linn Svahn ‘s gradual return to the circuit after a start to the season disrupted by both concussion and illness. “I had some good training this autumn, then I was a bit ill just before Gällivare. I also missed Ruka. It’s nice to be back,” she concludes.
