Cross-country skiing : a six-stage return process
Sweden’s Linn Svahn ‘s World Championships in Trondheim (Norway) came to an end before they could even get started in February. The 25-year-old cross-country skier suffered a concussion in a fall during a training session. This Tuesday, the native of Lycksele (Sweden) spoke for the first time on about the difficult times she has been through.
“I went from being in tip-top physical shape to a simple daily ordeal. I was very ill at the time, I slept a lot and I was isolated at home”, she reveals to SVT.

Currently on training camp in Crete (Greece) with the Swedish national team, Linn Svahn remains very positive despite the fact that she has not fully recovered. The Scandinavian has been following a rehabilitation process known as the “brain ladder”, a six-stage training programme specifically designed for people affected by concussion.
“I’m feeling good and I’m very happy to be here. The fact that I can be here is a bit like the final stage. There are a few delays and we’re working on them, but I’m thinking clearly enough to be able to be here ,” concludes the Swede.
