The Swiss cross-country skiing championships came to a close on Sunday in the Jaunpass (Switzerland) with the classic mass-starts. Following the victories of Alina Meier and Niclas Steiger in the skate sprints, it was Nicola Wigger who won the men’s race.

Over a 10-kilometre course, the 23-year-old cross-country skier got the better of his compatriot Niclas Steiger, back on the podium after his solid success the previous day. On the third step of the podium was Antonin Savary, ahead of Noé Naeff and Roman Alder.

In the women’s race, Alina Meier completed an excellent one-two following her domination of the skate sprint. On the line, the Swiss woman beat the young Ramona Schoepfer and Anina Hutter.
